Jordanna was in charge of building lists of influencers for different departments at Fleishman Hillard, which was then presented to various clients. Her biggest challenge was that she needed to find a decent amount of Canadian bloggers, in various categories, and do it in a timely fashion.
Doing a Google search for top bloggers in specific categories was tedious, and often resulted in sifting through a lot of spam and non-Canadian blogs to get viable targets. Jordanna used tools like Sysomos to find influencers based on keywords, but she’d only get good results about 50% of the time, and it was meticulous work. She also used social scores, like Klout, or looked at follower count to vet influencers based on client criteria.
Her other alternative was to look through some of her pre-existing lists of bloggers, but this was a starting point only as each client campaign is unique with its own goals and objectives and finding the right bloggers is key to success. As the market is dynamic with new influencers appearing every day, Jordanna had to spend a lot of time searching for the right influencers. A more efficient solution was needed.
