Jordanna Peroff of FleishmanHillard needed a better solution to finding targeted influencers, so she chose InNetwork. By using InNetwork’s Search Tool, she was able to provide her clients with targeted lists of high quality Canadian influencers, and it took her a minimum of 50% less time to do so.

The Challenge

Jordanna was in charge of building lists of influencers for different departments at Fleishman Hillard, which was then presented to various clients. Her biggest challenge was that she needed to find a decent amount of Canadian bloggers, in various categories, and do it in a timely fashion.

Doing a Google search for top bloggers in specific categories was tedious, and often resulted in sifting through a lot of spam and non-Canadian blogs to get viable targets. Jordanna used tools like Sysomos to find influencers based on keywords, but she’d only get good results about 50% of the time, and it was meticulous work. She also used social scores, like Klout, or looked at follower count to vet influencers based on client criteria.

Her other alternative was to look through some of her pre-existing lists of bloggers, but this was a starting point only as each client campaign is unique with its own goals and objectives and finding the right bloggers is key to success.  As the market is dynamic with new influencers appearing every day, Jordanna had to spend a lot of time searching for the right influencers. A more efficient solution was needed.

The Solution

InNetwork’s Search Tool was a perfect match for Jordanna and FleishmanHillard. Jordanna needed to present several rosters of Canadian influencers in different categories, so she needed an efficient tool that could help her do that. With InNetwork, Jordanna was able to supplement her existing networks by searching for additional influencers based on categories, geography, and gender, and then sort the list by her client’s target audience. InNetwork could help her identify who was the most influential and had the most reach with the client’s target audience.

Implementation

Jordanna used InNetwork’s search tool to build lists of influencers for FleishmanHillard’s clients. She found it really helpful that you could search for just Canadian influencers. Since we already cut out all of the spam and low quality bloggers from our network, she found it really easy to go through the different bloggers based on individual client needs.

After searching for lists, Jordanna looked through blogger profiles and clicked through their blog links to make sure they were the right fit for the brand. Having everything available (i.e. social networks, blog links, audience data, etc.) in front of her made it incredibly efficient to use. She could then save the best profiles she was interested in so she could present it to her team, and their clients.

Results

Jordanna was able to cut down her list-building time by at least 50%. Before using InNetwork, it would take Jordanna 3 to 4 hours just to find 10 qualified bloggers for her client’s campaign. With InNetwork, she saves a significant amount of time, allowing her to focus on the more interesting aspects of building and presenting communication strategies to her clients.  With InNetwork she is confident that she’s found the right influencers to achieve her outreach objectives, and her clients are impressed with her recommendations.

Erica Hummel of Central Counties Tourism needed to build a blog for the CentralCounties.ca website, so she was referred to InNetwork. The Challenge

Erica was in charge of starting a new blog and recruiting bloggers for the CentralCounties.ca website. She did not know where to start, how to approach bloggers, or better yet, what to look for when qualifying bloggers.

Bloggers were tasked with attending events, visiting parks, and reviewing restaurants. They took pictures, wrote blog posts, and published them to the CentralCounties.ca website. All terms were negotiated within the platform, and the whole process was really easy to follow.

Results

Erica’s goal of building a blog for the CentralCounties.ca website were easily met by contracting bloggers and influencers through InNetwork. So far, her 5 campaigns were successful, and have produced over 30 posts within 4 months. But what Erica is most satisfied with is the quality of the bloggers that are now marketing partners with Central Counties Tourism. Since all InNetwork influencers are vetted for quality and credibility, Erica was able to use the tool to find people that she could trust. Each blogger was easy to work with, and went out-of-their way to help Erica and Central Counties Tourism.
